Chateau Energy Solutions Cuts Miami VA Medical Center Utility Expenses with Lighting Retrofit

The Miami VA Healthcare System serves veterans in several South Florida counties. The parent facility of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is located on 26 acres and operates nearly 200 hospital beds.

Chateau Energy Solutions’ lighting experts were asked to perform a lighting retrofit for the parent facility located in Miami, Florida. These experts reviewed VAMC’s utility costs, assessed the existing system, and determined how much total energy usage was from lighting.

The lighting design group at Chateau Energy Solutions customized a lighting solution for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center that provided optimal efficiency and improved light quality.

During the course of this project, Chateau Energy Solutions not only recommended specific lighting solutions but also installed the equipment. In all, they retrofitted more than 13,500 fixtures and approximately 500 exit signs.

Standardization of all lamps and ballasts and coordination of recycling for the VAMC were also provided. The experts at Chateau Energy Solutions carefully planned the retrofit so disruption of the hospital personnel and patients was at a minimum.

The installation of new fixtures helped to increase the building’s lighting features, decrease utility expenses, and reduce maintenance costs.
